Therapy dogs must navigate schools, hospitals, and nursing homes, remaining unfazed by shiny floors, bright lights, music playing, and the “big scary”… elevators! Out and About is the second in a series of courses designed to prepare pets for therapy work in the community and all that comes with it.
This course is a five-week adventure! Each week, teams will visit a different location to practice their obedience skills and learn to problem-solve their way through everyday situations and challenges. On week five, trainers and teams will share a meal in a public place while dogs practice settling and calmly observing their surroundings.
This course is limited to four students and will be facilitated by a minimum of two trainers to ensure that teams receive the proper amount of coaching needed to succeed. (Prerequisite: Therapy Prep I or Impulse Control).
Upcoming Start Dates: March 4 at 6:30 pm (full) or March 4 at 8:00 pm (now enrolling).
