Within every dog is the potential to be amazing. This is what Meredith loves to teach her clients and friends! Meredith has always surrounded herself with animals. She spent her younger years volunteering at her local animal shelter where she fell in love with animal rescue and began fostering dogs. Her interests led her to delve deeply into dog training and behavior. In 2015, Meredith managed a doggy daycare where she managed playgroups and learned about dogs’ social behaviors and group dynamics. Meredith is currently employed at Shelby Humane Society as the foster and volunteer coordinator. She also leads WoofPack, their shelter dog training program, and does behavior modification with shelter dogs experiencing issues ranging from extreme fear to reactivity to resource guarding.
Meredith owns six rescue dogs – Kobi, Max, Ivy, Elsie, Lennox, and Luna – who suffer from behavioral problems like anxiety and reactivity. As a result, Meredith specializes in working with fearful and anxious dogs. She believes that an empathic and compassionate approach to dog training allows us to better understand our dogs, which then allows us to communicate with them better.
Meredith received an undergraduate degree in Plant Science from the University of Delaware in 2014 and a Master’s in Entomology from the University of Georgia in 2016. She has been with Love Them Train Them since 2019 and is working toward CPDT and CBCC certification.
